Throwing Dust

When things do not work out as we hope or plan, that can be difficult to handle.  When it comes to how others respond to our words or actions regarding Jesus, the negative can be very hard to receive. In our text, Paul’s witness, which is an appeal to his audience to see Jesus as the Messiah, is rejected with outrage-even  cries for his death! Throwing dust is an act that has rich, Biblical meaning.  It can be a means to illustrate turning toward God or turning away from Him.  The choice has everything to do with a person’s heart toward God. God uses us to bring this conversation between the two to pass. As we trust His leading into the conversation, we must trust His work through it as well.
